Certified Vision Therapist

Pamela graduated as an optometrist (OD) from the University of La Salle, Bogotá, Colombia. She practiced for more than 15 years at her native city of Bucaramanga, both in her private practice as well as an associate at an Ophthalmology clinic. Her main area of interest was in orthoptics. She was also a professor at the School of Optometry in Colombia.

Following her move to Canada, she worked for Essilor Canada as a Lens Representative, then she worked for Ciba Vision Canada as their Professional Affairs Director of Canada. Her passion in orthoptics, however, drew her back to continuing her education and advancing her career by registering with the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) in the United States where she was conferred her COVT certification as a Vision Therapist in 2016. She also trained with Vision Therapy Canada (VTC) on their Practical Vision Therapy Accreditation Program (PVTAP) and obtained her PVT certification in 2017. Later that same year, she completed the five Curriculum Courses from the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF).

In 2018, OEPF appointed her as one of their Curriculum Course Instructors trainees and their representative for Latin America. VTC also contracted her as one of their hands-on workshop instructors. In 2019, the Colombian College and Federation of Optometrists (FEDOPTO) named her the Director for the International chapter of their Federation.

Pamela is an active member of the COVD, VTC, OEPF, FEDOPTO, and The Latin America Association of Optometrist and Opticians, (ALDOO).

Currently, she dedicates her professional time to Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation for patients with learning-related vision problems, visual dysfunctions, Strabismus, Amblyopia, Acquired/traumatic brain injuries and Autism. She is still in her training process to teach the OEP Curriculum Courses in Spanish speaking countries.

Pamela continues to expand her knowledge by attending continuing education courses and conferences nationally and internationally.

We, at A-Ha Vision, are very happy that Pamela is part of our team and that she is able to bring her impetuous passion, wealth of knowledge and expertise to change the lives of our patients, one at a time.
